Celebrating OT Week — Unity Through Community
This week is OT Week, the annual celebration of Occupational Therapy in Australia and around the world. This year’s theme is Unity Through Community — a fitting reflection of how Occupational Therapists work every day, not just within clinical settings, but woven into the fabric of the communities they serve.
A moment to recognise our OT team
At Super Rehab, OT Week gives us the opportunity to pause and acknowledge the work our Occupational Therapists do every day. They visit participants in their own homes, assess the barriers that stand between people and the activities that matter to them, and find practical, personalised solutions that make a real difference to everyday life.
Whether it is helping a participant regain confidence after a fall, prescribing the right equipment to make bathing safer and more independent, or preparing a detailed report to support an NDIS plan review — the work is often quiet, practical, and unglamorous. But the impact is lasting.
To our OT team at Super Rehab: thank you. Your commitment to the people in your care, and to the profession, does not go unnoticed.
What does Occupational Therapy make possible?
OT Week is also a good opportunity to reflect on the breadth of what Occupational Therapists do. At Super Rehab, our OTs support participants across a wide range of needs:
- Home modification assessments and reports for the AT-HM Scheme and NDIS
- Equipment prescription and trials for daily living, mobility, and pressure care
- Functional Capacity Assessments for NDIS planning
- Cognitive assessment and retraining
- Falls prevention and home safety assessments
- Daily living skills retraining following illness, surgery, or injury
- Specialist Disability Accommodation assessments
If you have a participant who could benefit from OT input — or if you are simply not sure whether OT is the right referral — we are always happy to talk it through before you submit.
