Manual Handling Training

Super Rehab’s Essential Manual Handling Training equips community care workers and family carers with the skills and knowledge needed to prevent injuries, promote safety, and handle clients with confidence and care.

Our comprehensive training focuses on risk identification, assessment, and minimisation, ensuring your team can safely perform common manual handling tasks, such as lifting, repositioning, and transferring clients.

• Interactive Presentation - Foundations of safe manual handling, injury prevention, and best practice principles.
• Real-Life Scenario Discussions - Group discussions tailored to real-life challenges in home care and disability support.
• Hands-On Practice with Equipment - Practical experience using a variety of manual handling equipment: Slide sheets, walk belts, profiling beds, hoists, and stand-up lifters.
• Competency Assessment - Each participant will complete a practical assessment to ensure they meet competency standards.
• Small Group Learning - Sessions are capped for quality learning and interaction – maximum 12 participants per group.
• Certificate of Completion - Issued via post and/or email after the session.

• Experienced Instructors - Training is facilitated by registered Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists, each with extensive experience in a wide range of manual handling scenarios.
• Tailored and Practical Content - We focus on real-world challenges faced by care workers in community settings, offering both theoretical knowledge and hands-on practice using specialised equipment.
• Ongoing Support - We provide follow-up resources and refresher courses to help your team maintain their skills and stay current with best practices.

• Duration: 2.5 – 3 hours (includes a 15-minute break)
• Facilitator Ratio: 1 experienced therapist per 6 participants (max 12 participants per group)
• Location Options: At our Petersham or Homebush Hub, or at your facility

• A 30% deposit is required two weeks prior to your training date to confirm your booking.
• Your facility must provide functional audio/visual equipment for educator use.
• Training venues must have level access and suitable space for large manual handling equipment.
• If training is held at your site, equipment hire and delivery will incur an additional fee.
