What is the Super Brain Program
- Super Brain program is an Occupational Therapist led intervention session designed to help people living with cognitive decline or cognitive impairment to maintain their optimal level of function in everyday life. It is tailored to each individual’s specific needs and uses various therapies to train specific parts of the brain.

Who are the candidates for this program?
This program is for people that have:
- Been diagnosed with early stage of dementia;
- Mild to moderate dementia who is able to follow the prompts and performs a guided task and without behavioral issues;
- Experienced decline in cognitive function but have not been diagnosed with dementia; OR
- Had a stroke and have residual cognitive impairment

Initial phone screening
- We offer a free-of-charge screening over the phone to ensure the client will most likely benefit from the Super Brain Program. If the program does not suite the client, we will try to recommend any other alternative services which are more tailored to the person's needs.
What are included in the initial consultation?
- Initial face-to-face interview - to understand the client in order to formulate an appropriate activity plan. The interview questions may include the client’s past and present lifestyle, career history, interests and hobbies, past travel experience and significant life events.
- Formal cognitive assessment - to find out the client’s cognitive strength and weakness. More than one assessment tool may be used to assess the client’s overall cognitive capacity.
- Discussion with carer and/or family - to address their concerns, and to make sure the activity plan is suited to the client’s needs.
What happens after the initial consultation?
- Super Brain Program is an ongoing program. After the initial consultation, ongoing sessions will be conducted by our qualified Occupational Therapists, and the detailed activity plan will be provided to the client, carer and/or family. The activity plan will include a range of activities and tasks that is suitable to the client’s current level of cognitive and physical function, with the right amount of changeling as well as sense of achievement.

Who else will be involved?
- Our Occupational Therapists will also assess the client’s overall physical function, and will recommend Physiotherapist or Exercise Physiologist input to design an exercise program. It is particularly useful for the clients who will benefit from regular exercises to improve their cardiovascular fitness, strength and balance. All exercise program that is tailored to the client’s current health and abilities.
