Who should I
refer to?

A quick reference to help you choose the right clinician for your participant — PT, EP, or OT — with confidence. Our clinicians work closely together and their scopes of practice often overlap, particularly between PT and EP, and between PT and OT. Use this guide to navigate those differences and refer with confidence.

EP — Exercise Physiology

Common Questions

Triage & handover
scenarios.

Answers to the most common clinical handover and triage questions we receive from coordinators and case managers.

QParticipant is seeing an EP but now has walking safety concerns — what happens?
The EP will reach out to our senior PT and the participant’s coordinator. A one-off mobility assessment will be arranged at the standard follow-up rate, and EP sessions can continue as usual.
QParticipant’s goals have changed and they now need manual therapy — what happens?
The EP will communicate with the coordinator and senior PT to arrange a physiotherapy review. Once complete, the participant can resume EP sessions if appropriate.
QParticipant only wants massage — can Super Rehab help?
If massage is the only goal, our therapists will recommend referral to a massage therapist rather than a physiotherapist.
QNot sure which discipline to refer to?
Give us a call or send an email — our team will help you identify the right clinician before you submit the referral. We’re always happy to talk it through first.
QCan a participant receive services from more than one discipline at the same time?
Yes. Many participants receive PT and EP services concurrently — for example, a physiotherapist managing a specific injury while an exercise physiologist runs an ongoing strength and balance program. Our clinicians communicate internally to make sure goals are aligned and sessions are not duplicated.
QCan Super Rehab see participants under both NDIS and Home Care Package funding?
Yes. We are a registered NDIS provider and an associated provider under the Support at Home program. If a participant has mixed funding arrangements, our team can help you work out which services are charged to which funding stream before the referral is submitted.
QHow quickly can Super Rehab see a new participant after a referral is submitted?
We aim to contact the participant or their coordinator within one business day of receiving a referral. First appointment availability depends on location and discipline, but we will give you a clear timeline upfront and keep you informed if anything changes.
QWhat information do you need to process a referral?
At minimum we need the participant’s name, contact details, funding type and plan number, the discipline being referred to, and a brief description of their goals or presenting concerns. Clinical reports and prior assessments are helpful but not required to get started — our clinician will complete their own initial assessment at the first visit.
